So just what the monkeys have I been doing?
Well, I have had two sessions fishing, one was down at my other river and one was on the tributary that I fish. In fact I would hardly call it a session as it was the first time that I have actually went fishing.

Bluegills, Trout, Walleyes, and CatfishTypically they like water from 50 degrees up to 90, and can even be taken through ice! But, the best time to get them is when the water is around 70 degrees. It is then that they become aggressive because they are ready to spawn. You can find nests from about 2 – 12 feet deep. When it is warmer, fish early and/or late in the day, especially if you are in shallow water. Bigger bluegills can be found in deeper water, and can be up to 20 feet below the surface. When fishing lily pads, approach it as if you were going for bass. Fly line cleaners, fly floatants, epoxies and glue can all contribute alien smells to a trout stream. Other things such as aftershave, deodorant and even the smell of your clothing can all tip off a trout that an angler is near. |
