Plectropomus Laevis. A medium sized tropical grouper that can reach 40 pounds. This beautiful member of the serranidae family characterizes the coral reefs of the southern Pacific and Indian Ocean as did the dusky grouper in the Mediterranean, or the goliath grouper in the east American coasts in the 1960’s and the 70’s. He also carries with those the same behavior: fearless until the last drop. We hope they will not have the same fate… Of course, the ocean has an inconceivable size, but human race has shown unbelievable abilities for (self) destruction… After some initial success, the conscious hunter of the tropics will leave the trout alone, except maybe very few for their taste: a true delicacy.
