A Simple Way To Identify and Catch The Big One In River!

River dry fly fishing considered as the purest form of fly fishing inspired generations of writers, artists, poets and even philosophers to wax lyrical about its pleasures.

The gist to river dry fly fishing lies in the rise. Here, the angler waits patiently for a rise to begin before he or she starts to fish. And the art comes in persuading a particular trout to take your artifical pattern among a host of natural flies.

Rise forms vary widely from hour-to hour and river-to river. >From the way a trout breaks the surface (a rise), an experienced angler can tell how and what the trout feeds.

Fishing for Cutthroat Trout

Experienced fishermen know all about the cutthroat trout. That is because it is a huge gaming fish and it is difficult to catch. Why, then do so many fisherman go cutthroat trout fishing? These fish can be big and they offer a great flavor no matter if you plan to smoke, fry, or bake it. Cutthroat trout are some of the best fish to be caught.

The cutthroat trout is also known by other names including coastal cutthroat, Yellowstone cutthroat, Clark's trout, salmo clarki, lake trout, and other names. The fish has two forms that seem hard to separate. These two forms are the coastal cutthroat and the westslope or Yellowstone cutthroat. Cutthroat trout are about 12- 15 inches long and weigh anywhere from two pounds on up to 17 pounds. Quite a difference! The color of these fish is amazing.

Fishing for Blue Fish

The average fish weighs between 4 and 10 pounds, with any fish over 20 pounds being considered a real quality fish. The recognized IGFA record is 31 pounds, 12 ounce fish caught off the coast of North Carolina in 1972. Unconfirmed monster fish have reportedly been caught in the 40-pound range.

Population numbers of bluefish have been documented to follow cycles lasting about forty years. A recent disappearance occurred during the 1920s, and anglers are still enjoying a high for the fish which began in the 1970s. They are migratory fish, following schools of baitfish such as menhaden shad and mullet, heading north from Florida in spring, all the way to Maine by the end of the summer.
